101 S. 60th Ave W. — one block from Raleigh Edison School
Four friends garage sale. Letting go of grandma, ex husbands and old boyfriends. Selling the usual and some strange things, domestic items, 12-piece Depression ware, “Home & Garden”, collectibles. MAN POSSESSIONS. Bring your truck, free scrap wood. No early birds, not even friends. Cash only. Directions: Central Avenue to Raleigh Street to South 60th Avenue West.

I’ll be there. I want the MAN POSSESSIONS.
Don’t you already have your own MAN POSSESSIONS?
There’s no way the MAN POSSESSIONS at this sale can match the awesomeness that phrase conjures in my head. Pinky rings, elephant guns, Baci’s El Camino …
I might have to check it out just in case.
He doesn’t know about all of his stuff we are selling.
If you could look inside my thought bubble right now, it would look something like this …
We used to go to estate sales almost every weekend in Minneapolis, and the best ones all seemed to be from a specific era.
The formula changed a little bit from estate sale to estate sale, but not very much.
There would be 2 rooms upstairs with sewing and knitting stuff, some extra dishes, books and maybe some craft supplies.
Downstairs were the tools, fishing tackle, usually some photography equipment, a homemade bar, awesome cocktail shakers and barware, and a box of Playboys.
So, this is where we go to sell our old boyfriends? Are fixer-uppers or needs-work types acceptable? What if I need to unload a few boy-men? You know, slightly worn but still pretty immature? Or are those not qualifying as man possessions?
