The hunt for a wireless provider in Duluth

We’re ready to ditch Dish and are looking to go wireless-only at our house (no cable package). Are there any good companies providing wireless (besides Clearwire) in Duluth these days?

Airfiber and Compudyne both offer wireless service. I’m not sure if Compudyne does any residential service or not, but I know Airfiber does. I’ve heard mostly positive things about Airfiber; good synchronous speeds!

I take that back, they no longer have synchronous speeds for residential. Fastest is 20×10; still not bad.

Think twice about going with Clearwire! Unless they have improved considerably in the past couple of years. Speed is very poor … it would take 15-30 minutes to download a song! Speed is great with Charter but you have to pay big bucks for just one service ($59.95/month).

@BOB L: I don’t think Clearwire is selling service to new customers anymore. Clearwire became Clear and merged with Sprint, and Sprint is saying that it is no longer selling Clear service.

Charter isn’t terrible, I think I’m only at $39 a month for 60 meg speeds. Bob L, might want to call and get a better rate!
