Lutsong Music Festival 2026
The fifth annual Lutsong Music Festival runs July 9-12 on stages at Caribou Highlands Lodge and the North Shore Winery in Lutsen.The Caribou Highlands great lawn hosts artisans, musicians and music lovers all weekend with a vendor village, food and drinks. This year’s festival marks a milestone with the National Parks Lake Superior Foundation, celebrating their 20th anniversary of stewardship and conservation work protecting the north shore.
Head down the hill to the North Shore Winery main stage each night for the headliner act. After those headliner shows you can take the shuttle back to Caribou Highlands for the Caribou Campfire Guitar Pull.

Hodag Country Festival
The 48th annual Hodag Country Music Festival in Rhinelander runs July 9-12.
Single-day or full fest tickets can be purchased at hodag.com.

Americana musician Teague Alexy plays most Monday evenings at Sir Ben’s.
Celtic Song Circle
Celtic Song Circle is an event where attendees can sing and play Irish and Scottish favorites in a group setting. Instruments are welcome.
Music in the Park
The 42nd annual Music in the Park concert series, formerly known as the Chester Creek Concert Series, features a variety of live music on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer. This summer all shows are at Lincoln Park while chalet renovations happen at Chester Bowl Park. The series is presented by Duluth Parks and Recreation and the Chester Bowl Improvement Club. The Twin Ports Express food truck will be on site and attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.

Glensheen’s Concerts on the Pier are an opportunity for Duluthians to wander the Glensheen grounds and enjoy free live music. Attendees are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket. Food and drinks are available for purchase but small outside snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed. Do not bring in large coolers. Service animals only are allowed on the estate. It is also encouraged to bike, boat, walk or kayak to the concert since parking is limited. Openers perform from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., continuing with headliners from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This year, Glensheen is offering a skip-the-line package. The package includes a punch card to all nine concerts, allowing folks to skip the line with early access, a 2026 Concerts on the Pier t-shirt and a sticker. Those can be purchased at tickets.umn.edu.
Open Mic Night at the Backstage
Big Top Chautauqua’s year-round performance space hosts an open mic event on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 6 to 9 p.m. with a special guest host, offering attendees the opportunity to sing a song, play a tune, tell a joke or tell a story.
Drinks and food are available for purchase.
Courtside Concerts at Pier B
Make plans for summer nights of soul, funk and groove on the water with Soulhead for Pier B Hotel’s Courtside Concert Series.
The series takes place every Wednesday in June, July and August from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Beer Gardens at Great Lakes Aquarium 2026
Beer Garden events are held outside the Great Lakes Aquarium every Thursday in July and August and feature rotating food trucks and musical artists, with views of the Aerial Lift Bridge and Duluth Harbor.
This week’s musical act is The Hot Club of Duluth. The food truck is Johnny B’s.
Admission is free. Cash or credit cards are accepted for food and beverages purchased at the outdoor bar. Families and non-human companions are welcome, though guests must be at least 21 years old to consume alcohol.
Great Lakes Aquarium is open for indoor exploration from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Standard admission rates apply. Indoor restrooms will remain accessible until the Beer Garden closes at 8 p.m.

This year’s Music in the Park at Bennett will feature six evenings of live music designed for all ages. In addition to a larger lineup, this year’s series also showcases a brand new stage in the park.
Concerts take place on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the north end of Bennett Park.

Every Thursday, Sir Benedict’s brings a little Celtic twist to the English pub with the Celtic Jam. This open session is available to anyone who wants to join in and is open to all ages and talent levels.
Northern Lights Music Festival Concerto Competition Winners Concert 2026
The Northern Lights Music Festival Orchestra performs with the winners of the Helen Bradach Zuponcic Concerto Competition. The show is in the Veda Zuponcic Auditorium at Mesabi East High School.
Tickets are $20 for adults and free for ages 18 and under.
One of Minnesota’s largest music festivals, the Northern Lights Music Festival offers lovers of classical music three weeks of opera, chamber music and orchestra concerts presented by an international roster of guest artists, performing faculty and prize-winning young artists. The festival runs July 1-21; the full schedule is available at northernlightsmusic.org.
Silver Bay Music in the Park 2026
Silver Bay Music in the Park is a series of free concerts held on summer Friday nights at City Center Park next to Silver Bay City Hall. Performer styles range from jazz and bluegrass to singer-songwriter folk and rock and roll. Attendees can bring a lawn chair and/or a blanket.
The Jayhawks
The Jayhawks and their rootsy sound were definitely swimming against the tide when they emerged from a crowded Minnesota music scene in 1985. Over the course of four decades, 11 albums, countless memorable live shows and enough personal drama to fill a couple of Behind the Music episodes, the beloved band soared to heights few ever achieve while winning the hearts and minds of numerous critics, fans and peers in the process.

J Streitz and Jimmy Rogers
J Streitz and Jimmy Rogers of the Americana band J Streitz and the Long Odds perform on the third Saturday of each month at Sir Ben’s, playing original Midwest Americana music along with a few covers by the likes of John Prine, Bob Dylan, Justin Townes Earle, Son Volt and similar artists.
Killer Queen: A Tribute to Queen
Killer Queen is a Queen tribute band founded in 1993 by Patrick Myers while at London University — the same venue where Queen first played. Renowned for its authentic sound, stagecraft and uncanny recreation of Queen, the band has won numerous awards and sold out arenas, leading to a collaboration with Fatboy Slim on a chart-topping single. Killer Queen’s international tours have included high-profile performances such as a Live Aid tribute and shows at iconic venues like the West End and Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Learn & Sing Sea Shanties
Paul Webster and other shantymen lead this twice-monthly event, featuring sea shanties and other work songs that are easy to join in on. Experienced and inexperienced singers are welcome.
The events are free, but a $5 to $10 donation is appreciated.

Judy Collins
Judy Collins has inspired generations with her sublime vocals, vulnerable songwriting and commitment to social activism. A defining voice of the 1960s folk movement, she remains a luminous presence five decades later with an iconic 55-album catalog.
Her Grammy Hall of Fame recording of “Both Sides Now” and Grammy-winning hit “Send in the Clowns” cemented her legacy, alongside multiple top-ten and gold- and platinum-selling albums. Her 2022 release Spellbound — the first album she’s written entirely herself — earned a 2023 Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album.
The High Kings open the show.
