Lift-accessed mountain biking at Spirit Mountain this summer
Starting May 23, Spirit Mountain is set to start running its lifts for mountain bikers. As of now there are two amazing trails that are an absolute blast to ride! If you want to try mountain biking this is a perfect opportunity for you.
The hours will be:
Thursday 4pm – 8pm
Friday 1pm – 8pm
Weekends 10am – 4pm
The lift ticket rates are:
Single ride $8
All-day pass $20
For more information you can go to spiritmt.com. Above and below are videos of the new trails.

8 bucks for a single ride huh? Seeing as how I can walk up the hill in two minutes, I think I’ll do that instead. Delusions of Grandeur…
I wish they would offer a season pass. Otherwise I’m totally stoked! (as the kids say these days.)
Herzog, I’d pay you $1,000 if you can walk the hill from the bottom of the bike run to the top in two minutes. Hell, with your bike, I’d pay that for you to run up those 600′ of vertical in two minutes. Delusions of fitness.
I agree with digit3 and with Strangedamage.
I walked up and down that hill all last fall to ride that trail and would easily pay the 20 bucks for a day of riding the lift. I think that they priced it perfectly. Who would only ride the lift once anyway?
I think a lot of folks are ignorant as to how big that hill really is when you have to power yourself up it.
However I would also easily throw down a lot more money for a season pass as well……
In any case, you can walk up and down it if you want as the trails are open to anybody that wants to ride them, you dont need to ride the lift.
Loki, you da man! What you have done for MTB riding in the upper Midwest is without compare.
I, for one, want to earn my turns but it will be nice for the long travel bikes or big-bellied crowd to have a lift to ride.
I have walked up Spirit countless times to ride the trails out there! I have been waiting for lift access mountain biking in this area for as long as I can remember and I am so stoked that Spirit is finally doing it! Can’t wait to get in some lift-assisted laps and get some new people into this awesome sport!
Well… I now know where I’ll be breaking my collarbone this summer.
My son and I rode our bikes at Mt. Gore in upstate N.Y. last summer, and I tell you what, it was a blast. Gondola ride up and tricky singletrack down. We did 5 trips for 20$. A great deal. We both can’t wait for this to open.
Delusions of Fitness is what I excel at, okay, five minutes… I’d pay the 20 for a day, or a season pass if i was on that side of town, 8 bucks for a lap is a little randy. Broken collarbone is right.
Still and all, elevation challenged as Duluth is, why wouldn’t a guy go for increasing his PR climbing the slopes of Spirit? Start at 3 and work up to ten by the end of the summer. Not having season passes, you could think of it as helping to pay for your new bike while pulling some nails from your coffin.
Thing is, my collarbone is actually a lot harder to break when I’m working for it, if I was getting lifts to the top, I would get ahead of myself and my season would end in May. You don’t really get a workout, certainly don’t get any cardio with your hand and thumb doing all the work, is all I’m sayin’. BUt you know, these whippersnappers aren’t in it for the X, so good on them.
They need to build a good route to climb. Going up the fall line on the ski hill is a PITA (and holds mud). I’m all about earning turns by climbing.
This is AWESOME!
