It was standing room only tonight at the Duane L. Cady lecture co-sponsored by the Center for Ethics and Public Policy, the Alworth Center, and the College of Liberal Arts.
The talk, which addressed “Intersections of Racism, Sexism, and Warism,” is an excellent reminder of the ways that the social ills we face are intertwined.
The next event sponsored by the Center addresses “Poverty in Duluth: Alien Neighbors, Plastic Santas, and the Uncharted Future” with speaker David Benson, dbenson@damianocenter.org.

I have tried for about 18 months now to wrap my head around the interconnection between these issues. It’s a tangled web – but it definitely is a web.
Too bad I missed it. I had a professor as an undergrad who was very interested in these intersections–I kind of rolled my eyes at some of it, but I guess the readings worked, given that I still remember them 20 years later.
