I saw a bear today on the lake side of London Road. It ran toward the lake and downtown direction. I am interested if anyone saw the bear between 51st Avenue East and downtown — it’s a youngish-looking bear.
I used to have a bear in my yard all the time over by the Piedmont golf course. I’d come home, park and there it would be up in a tree – sitting on the first branch.
Yessir. We were coming from downtown and my daughter said she just saw a bear eating dandelions. The boy and I didn’t really believe her at first so we turned around and there it was.
Yes…We saw a little bear on the lakeside around the 42nd block yesterday evening.
Thanks! I am hoping it follows a creek up into a more wild area, as fun as it was to see…it needs more space than Lakeside…

I think this is the time of year when yearlings have to go out on their own. Maybe this bear is a yearling. I hope he/she will find a good place, too.
You probably already know about bear.org from the North American Bear Center in Ely?
And thanks for the photos.
The bear is currently hanging out next to 35 near the 21st Ave exit. I took a crappy video of it and just loaded it on my Facebook page:

“Currently” being about 4:30ish?

It is looking for a liquor store. If there was one in Lakeside the poor bear wouldn’t have had to venture so far away.
Bear walks through grocery store in Hayward
So true — we could use a nice little bar here too.
Well-played, Gary.
Spotted a bear cub this morning by Barker’s Island. Ran across the road and hid in the cattails.
Who hid in the cattails? You, or the bear?
