Where in Duluth – Flashback Edition

Now, I don’t actually know where in Duluth this was taken, but I’d like to know so I can go re-shoot it. The buildings in the background look distinct enough that I hope someone here recognizes them if they are still standing.
Where in Duluth?
Could be a trick question because of the traveling nature of the Professor’s merchandise. But even though the flames suggest some crazy zooming around town, this has been in the same place each time I saw it.

I was out for a hike today and found this.
I did not go investigate to see if there really were girls … it kinda reminded me of that one “Kids in the Hall” headcrusher sketch.

This may have been posted before but I don’t remember seeing it. I found it on one of my new favorite sites, Wikimedia Commons. Click the image to go directly to the page, you should be able to enhance it there as well.
I believe this picture was taken close to my current domicile but I can’t exactly say. Could anyone else tell where it appears to radiate from? I’d also love to see one of you photoshop wizards try overlaying modern images so I can compare side by side, but that’s asking a lot on a rare warm summer day, I know.
