Winter Fiasco + Art
Greetings from the Homegrown Music Festival steering committee! The Winter Fiasco kicks off 2012’s Homegrown: The Apocalypse band registration, which runs Jan. 15 to Feb. 15. Band registration is online only (unless you’re Jim Hall). Also, Prøve Gallery is hosting a Duluth / Superior rawk poster art show during the Fiasco. Piece of Elton John Plays Homegrown
Kim Bullard, Elton John’s keyboardist, was at the Brewhouse Thursday night playing with Jessica Myshack. The rumors are true. Who says you have to pay 150 bucks to see Sir Elton (or a piece of his band) play in Duluth?
Hobos @ Rex
Wednesday night! The Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank @ the Rex as part of the Homegrown Music Festival. 11-11:45 pm. Visual presentation by Sound Unseen Duluth including snippets of the documentary Moments and Truths. Moments and Truths comes with the Hobo Nephews new CD Traveling Show.
Trampled by Turtles 2011 Homegrown Show Information
Hullo, Trampled by Turtles fans!
Stop. Collaborate and listen. The Trampled by Turtles show at the Clyde Iron is going to be awesome. To help keep it awesome, please be aware of the following:
- This is a 21+ show.
- There is a max capacity at Clyde Iron. Once this is reached, no more admittance wristbands will be available.
- Doors open at 6 p.m.
- No backpacks, bottles, guns, exotic animals, imported fruit, bad manners, etc., etc.
Ticket Information:
- $5 Wednesday night only tickets go on sale at 5:30 p.m. at Clyde Iron. Cash Only. Weeklong wristbands will also be available for purchase.
- If you already have a Homegrown Weeklong wristband you do not need an additional ticket. A weeklong wrist band does not guarantee admission.
- First come, first serve general admission. Once Clyde Iron reaches capacity no more fans will be admitted.
- Homegrown will be handling all ticket sales. Please DO NOT call Clyde Iron looking for ticket info or purchasing.

Duluth’s Homegrown Chicken Craze!
The first paragraph of the story above, from the April 27, 1902, Duluth News Tribune, might as well be about the Homegrown Music Festival, which represents itself with the chicken logo at left.
It is said that when the chicken raising microbe once enters the human system there is no known remedy — the victim must succumb to the inevitable. With some it is a fad and with others it is both business and pleasure but those belonging to the latter class are by far the more numerous.
