Duluth: The Real Hockey Town USA?
This will only be of interest to the biggest Duluth-o-philes, Twitter nerds (like me) and possibly hockey fanatics.
Last night for about 10-15 minutes Duluth East was trending on Twitter in the United States. This means that there was an enormous amount of “chatter” about Duluth East’s victory over Edina in the MN State High School League AA Hockey Semi-Finals.

Documentary Film Passing Through
Passing Through is a documentary about a man from Northern Minnesota who has struggled with the HIV/AIDS virus for 20 years. I finished the film in 2007 as a senior in the video production program at UW-Superior. The film won the jury award in the student category at the Wisconsin Film Festival in ’08. Since then I haven’t been sure what to do with it, so last night I uploaded it to Vimeo for the public to view. If you have 20 minutes please check it out.

Colbert takes on Pawlenty’s dramatic ads
At PDD, we compared Pawlenty to Superman, among other things, for his chest-puffed image on his book cover. Stephen Colbert one ups us by comparing him to Brawny Man.
At PDD, we called Pawlenty President of the United States of Apocalypse after viewing his book trailer. Colbert says Pawlenty is “running for President of the next Transformers movie.” That one could probably go either way.

NerdNite VIII
You don’t need a GPS to find coolness. You do need it to try GeoCaching, one of the awesome events discussed at NerdNite VIII.
We loved all the talks, and we loved learning about a local creative resource. Kudos to all who planned it, and looking forward to the next one! I’d love to know about NerdNite as a movement — I learned a little at nerdnite.com, but want to learn more!

WI Governor Scott Walker will be in Washburn WI around 4pm this Saturday, for a Lincoln Day diner. The fine folks of the town plan to give him a “warm” welcome, especially in light of the WI Senate passing the so called Budget Fix bill on Wednesday, despite three weeks of constant protest against it.
Washburn is a lot closer than Madison.
Terrible Duluth Public Schools Wikipedia
I am not a Wiki person but I am just putting this out there to those of you who are: check out the Duluth Public Schools Wikipedia Page. Not only is it outdated and lacks proofreading it is quite salacious and suggests “controversity” (sic) without evidence to support those claims. I don’t have the knowledge to update the page but would like to see something better out there!
