Dragonflies and Damselflies Field Trip

This field trip will focus on seeing and catching adult dragonflies and damselflies. All ages and ability levels are welcome. Extra nets and hand lenses are available for those who would like to use them. Registration is required.

Trivia Night at the Lake Superior Zoo happens on the second Wednesday of every month inside the Porcupine Pub at Lake Superior Zoo. Each night features a mix of animal-inspired questions alongside general trivia pulled from headlines, pop culture, sports, history and more.

5:50 p.m. – Register a team of up to six people
6 p.m. – Trivia starts
7:30 p.m. – Trivia wraps/prizes/Last call for alcohol

Trivia players can enjoy local drinks from Bent Paddle, Earth Rider, Wild State Cider and more. Warm pretzels, pizza or a variety of pub snacks will be available. This is a 21+ event, and the Porcupine Pub is the only area of the zoo open during trivia night.

The Golden Ticket: A Celebration of Aging Carnival

A celebration of growing older with joy and laughter during which attendees can enjoy games, health and wellness activities, a classic car show, live entertainment, food trucks, educational speakers, bingo and more. Presented by The Northland Aging Care Network.

Fix-it Clinic

Whether it’s cracked, torn, stained, missing a piece or just not working properly, broken things can be made good as new with the right skills and tools. WLSSD has partnered with Duluth Folk School and Duluth Makerspace to host regular events where people can learn how to fix their stuff. Volunteers specialize in a variety of repair skills, including electronics and small appliances, woodworking and furniture, watches and jewelry, clothing and upholstery, sports and outdoor gear, ceramics, artwork and more.

People can sign up in advance to be paired with a skilled volunteer or volunteer their skills to help fix other folks’ stuff. For more information or to register visit wlssd.com/fix-it or call 218-722-3336. Walk-ins are welcome but not guaranteed a time slot.

Yellowjacket Alumni and Friends Golf Outing

The 39th annual Yellowjacket Alumni and Friends Golf Outing features four-person teams competing on the course to support Yellowjacket athletics.

Registration is available online at cashnet.com. In-person registration opens at 10:30 a.m., prior to the a noon shotgun start. The cost to enter a team is $500, which includes green fees, two carts per team, proximity prizes, a participant gift and food vouchers.
