A Taste of Ireland

Performed by former World Irish dance champions and featuring dancers from Lord of the Dance, Riverdance and the recent West End cast of Éireann, A Taste of Ireland brings the spirit and energy of modern Ireland to life with a pint of Irish wit. Watch world-class performers blend melodic folk mash-ups, live jaw-dropping acapella tap battles and heartfelt storytelling in a live celebration of Irish music and dance.

Nerd Nite Duluth

An evening of laughs, learning and geekiness featuring three presentations on nerdy topics like sci-fi book art, spacecraft design and the story of Virginia, Minnesota’s naming. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Cash bar available.

Screening and Q&A: Minnesota’s Role in the American Story

PBS North presents an exclusive afternoon of history, storytelling and community conversation at their studio centered around locally-produced segments from their collaborative documentary series Minnesota and the American Story. An intimate Q&A session with PBS North production manager Chris Brown follows. Brown will provide behind-the-scenes insights into how these local stories were brought to life.

Bong Airport Open House 2026

The Lake Superior Squadron and the Blue Water Big Band present a day of food, flying and fun at the Bong Airport in Superior. Rides are available for purchase from Superior Flying Services and on the Commemorative Air Forces Minnesota Wing’s BT-13.

Mount Rushmore, Amelia Earhart and Escape Rooms

Historical reenactors present interpretations of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln and Amelia Earhart on Independence Day at the Bong Center after the Fourth of July Parade. Additionally, there is a Mission Marge Escape Room presented by Escape Room Parties.

Admission to the center is $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, $10 for students ages 12-17, $8 for children ages 6-11 and $5 for military veterans.

Twin Ports Genealogical Society Meeting

The Twin Ports Genealogical Society has been assisting family history enthusiasts since 1971. Meeting attendees can learn tips for tracing a family tree.

Planning Your Lake Superior Circle Tour

Attendees can learn about the landscape, 1.1 billion-year-old geology, industrial “ghost lines” in the forest and deep Indigenous history. This class for adults is led by Emily Macgillivray, a PhD-trained historian and veteran of the Circle Tour who taught field courses for college students about the watershed.
