Waiter? There’s a drink in my brain.

you have a new place to get your drink on when you visit the twin cities.

A legendary north Minneapolis dive bar has risen from the dead.

When one of the Twin Cities’ most notorious bars, Stand Up Frank’s, closed earlier this year, I wouldn’t have believed in a million years it would be reopened and reimagined as something called Donny Dirk’s Zombie Den. Real zombies could dig themselves out of the ground and eat my brains before that would happen, because that would be crazy. Read the rest.

Dance. Dance. Revolution.

https://www.cuba-solidarity.org/che/che-dancing-big.jpg

Pastors for Peace are on their way to Cuba again to bust the U.S. blockade. They’ll either deliver 100s of tons of needed aid to the island, or land in prison.

Come on out to Lafayette Community Center on the Point this Tuesday, July 7 to send them off and shake your salsa thang.

  • 6PM Cuban dinner (veggie) and a speaker on the Cuban health care system
  • 7:30PM salsa lessons with Juliana Bertelsen… then we dance

Come for all or part of the evening. Cash donations for the caravan taken at the door. It’ll be fun. And humanitarian. Can’t beat that.

Stewart Creek Railroad Bridge on DWP Trail in Duluth

What’s your favorite rickety old bridge in Duluth? Mine is called “Ass Bridge.” At least, that’s what I call it, for reasons that will become obvious if you read on. It’s an old railroad bridge over Stewart Creek in western Duluth. The northeastern side of the bridge is in the Riverside neighborhood, the southwestern side is in the Smithville neighborhood. Come join us for a casual bike ride through downtown Duluth, Canal Park, and wherever else our wheels may take us to celebrate cycling, promote sustainable transport, and take back the streets from automobiles’ boring and destructive business-as-usual.

Critical Mass is a leaderless ride that happens in cities throughout the world on the last Friday of each month.  Everyone is welcome to attend and participate!  Come dressed up in costume, birng noisemakers, decorate your bike!  (this is a parade of sorts)
