Aquatic Invasive Species Presentation

At Hartley Nature Center this Wednesday, Oct. 20, @ 7 p.m. — an aquatic invasive species presentation on VHS and Asian carp: An in-depth look at how these two invasive species are affecting U.S. waters, will be presented by Marte Kitson, a program specialist at Minnesota Sea Grant.

The sun is setting on this canoe season. Get you last fix in at Hartley Nature Center.  This Saturday, September 25, from 10 am- 1:30 p.m., rent a canoe at the nature center and paddle around Hartley Pond!

Adult Night Out at Hartley Nature Center:

This week, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.- Fabulous Ferns! Learn to identify our areas “top ten” most common ferns and which work well in home gardens. Speakers include Carol Andrews, President of the Arrowhead Chapter of Wild Ones, and Clayton Oslund, author of What’s Doin’ the Bloomin’?

Free for Wild Ones and Hartley members, $4 donation for non-members

Today, September 15, at Hartley Nature Center:

5-7 p.m. Staff-led Mushroom and Plant Walk- join staff as we stroll through Hartley Park to see what’s growing.

7 p.m. AIS meet and greet – an introduction to the aquatic invasive species found in our area presented by Marte Thabes Kitson, Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Specialist and National Park Service Liaison for Minnesota Sea Grant.
