Butt Litter @ Homegrown
So, at Sacred Heart for Homegrown, and outside the doors, right next the a cigarette disposable receptacle, this guy (with a large beard) clearly flicks his still burning cigarette out on the ground, at the church no less. Now, I’m a smoker too, but is it really that hard to not litter the place with cigarette butts? Gosh, I guess I thought at least people going to Homegrown could care just a ‘wee’ bit better than this … end of rant.
Maybe he did it because it’s a church, no less.
What did you say to him?

As a former smoker who acted like a douchebag (and who is now just a douchebag), I can attest that smokers are truly, truly excellent at rationalizing their litter. You can even be a staunch environmentalist health nut smoker and still throw your butts on the ground. Been there. These days I notice more smokers carrying their butts around in their cig packs until they can dispose of them, a small improvement over years ago when I NEVER saw this. It’s a good sign but still plenty of douchebag smokers out there.
