Free Comic Book Day 2011

About Free Comic Book Day:

Free Comic Book Day is a single day when participating comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their shops. Free Comic Book Day is held the first Saturday in May each year.

The first Free Comic Book Day event was held in 2002. In the past, thousands of shops around the world have given away millions of free comic books to interested readers.

Where to Celebrate in Duluth:
Different shops have policies on how many free comics you can receive, but you will receive at least one free comic if you enter a participating shop location. Check with your retailer for their policies and plans for FCBD.

DRAGON PORT GAMES AND COMICS
3 SOUTH 4TH AVENUE WEST
DULUTH, MN (218) 720-4669

DragonPort has a huge selection of FCBD comics. I was in tonight, and they also have some recent comics specials marked down 75% off, some comic sets (a complete series of a comic) marked down, and a nice restock on some popular trade paperbacks of all types: Strangers in Paradise, Y the Last Man, Sandman, Preacher, Hellboy, Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sleep, and more. Back room back issues remain on sale. SirJeff has a selection to die for.

DragonPort has a huge game room, and I think there’s a Magic: The Gathering event, this weekend, too.

While the selection of FCBD comics is set by the store, why not pick up a comic or trade paperback while you are in?

What are your favorite comics lately? I’m enjoying Cinderella (a Fables spinoff) and Knights of the Dinner Table…

KotDT! Woot! Tales from the Table has my story of some rather “special” local gamers in #84 (“Cow Anatomy 101”).
Last I heard, the plan for Collector’s Connection was 10/customer (thought that might change depending on supplies & attendance). Thanks for spreading the word! Support your friendly local game store!

    Minutes until FCBD!

    Coll Conn opens at 10…
    DP opens at 11…

    National Train Day at Fitgers…

    A Good Day!

I already stopped by Collector’s Connection for my free goodies – 5/customer of the official fcbd comics, 10/customer on the huge selection of back issues on the next table.
