Don't worry though... We are working on ways that you can still enjoy the Christmas decorations in 2021. Stay tuned! Thank you for your patience and understanding. This closure affects many small businesses in our communities and museums especially. We encourage you to consider supporting not only Glensheen but all local museums and businesses in your area. You can help Glensheen carry out our mission to, 'Celebrate Preservation' for generations to come through a handful of ways. Here are a few: Become a Member - If you become a member before the end of the year, we are offering to double the length of an annual membership to 2 years. This means that for the same value as 1 year, your membership would not expire until 2022! Purchase a Guided Virtual Tour - Glensheen’s two Virtual Tours offer two distinct experiences to meet the needs of Glensheen’s differing audiences. Donate - Today, Glensheen preserves the work of some of the brightest and most creative individuals in Minnesota history. However, after enduring for more than a hundred years, repairs are needed to bring Glensheen back to its original vision. Engage with us on social media - Like, follow, comment, and most importantly... share! When you help us spread the word about Glensheen, you are playing a role in our mission to “Celebrate Preservation”. We appreciate your engagement more than you know. Thank you for your support and understanding as we navigate through these challenging times. We are committed to continuing our mission and inspiring excitement about Glensheen...whether it be in-person or digitally. #glensheen #glensheenmansion #staysafemn #covid19 #2020 #supportmuseums #museums #localmuseum #local business #shoplocal #donate #member #guidedtour #duluthloveslocal #virtualtour #staysafe #authenticduluth #destinationduluth #celebratepreservation #duluthmn #Onlyinmn #local #xmas2020 #christmas2020". instagram.com Instagram 23 likes, 1 comments - stlukesfdn on December 24, 2020: "Lester Park Elementary Giving Tree Project Continues with Creativity Despite the barriers of the pandemic and not being in the classroom, Lester Park Elementary was creative in continuing their annual tradition of spreading holiday cheer to patients at St. Luke’s. In previous years, students have done chores and held fundraising events to purchase trees, gifts and make ornaments for patients at St. Luke’s and Essentia. This year, the students made ornaments and “get well” cards at home, and Marshall Hardware generously donated 12 trees allowing the project to continue. Aware of St. Luke’s need for patient activity items, the students also collected donations of puzzles, coloring books, word search games and other items for our patients. The Giving Tree Project began 18 years ago with a little boy’s desire to give back to the local hospital that saved his brother’s life. It was his idea to give trees to patients who have to spend the holidays away from home. All involved with this project hope each tree brings patients joy knowing the ornaments were made with little hands and much love. Pictured from left to right are Brendan Baker, child who helped start this tradition 18 years ago; Dena Cyr, St. Luke’s Education Assistant; and Sue Janchar-Baker, Lester Park Teacher and Project Organizer.". instagram.com Instagram 230 likes, 6 comments - stegermukluks on December 22, 2020: "Happy Holidays from Ely, MN!
