We take a short, spontaneous road trip and drive out from Duluth to Madeline Island on the “Ice Road.” When the bay freezes up during the Winter, a road is plowed between Bayfield, WI and the Island community of La Pointe, and officially becomes part of the highway system for a few short months each year!
